The only son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, Peter Mark Andrew Phillips, was born on November 15, 1977. The Queen's oldest grandchild, he is ninth in line to the throne. Princess Anne has worked hard to ensure that both her children lead normal, upper-class lives. Neither has a title, since their father did not have one.
At six feet tall and weighing 165 lbs., Peter is a natural athlete. Rugby is his favorite sport. He played on the junior international Scottish Schools team and toured South Africa in 1996 for the Scottish rugby team. At the spartan Gordonstoun school in Scotland, he was also involved in a fire brigade. He graduated from Exeter University's School of Education with a degree in sports science. He worked for the Jaguar Formula One racing team and for the Williams Grand Prix team, then left racing to work for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
