Alan Mixon

Birthplace: Miami, Florida
As a child Mixon worked in the circus as a trapeze artist and tightrope walker. He began his career on the stage in 1956 and appeared in the notable off-Broadway plays Suddenly Last Summer (1958) and Desire Under the Elms (1963). On Broadway he acted in The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window (1964–65), Mourning Becomes Electra (1972), and Equus (1974–75). He also performed in TV dramas and soap operas, most recently The Equalizer (1985–89) and Law & Order (1991).
