Escaping to Hollywood where she was unknown by the paparazzi there, Zeta-Jones landed the role of the fiery Elena opposite Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro. Starring roles followed in Entrapment (1999) The Haunting (1999), Traffic (2000), and American Sweethearts (2001). Her turn as Velma Kelly in the musical Chicago (2002) netted her a best supporting Oscar. In November 2000, her marriage to actor Michael Douglas, was a star-studded affair. They have a son, Dylan Michael. Jones and Douglas share the same birth date, though he has a 25-year head start on her.
