Cindy Adams
gossip columnist
A native New Yorker, Adams started writing for small city papers. Her big break came in 1979 when she cancelled a dinner with a New York Post editor because she wanted to see an old friend, the shah of Iran, who was dying in a New York hospital. The editor asked her to write about the shah for the paper. Her article appeared on the front page. For the next two years Adams wrote periodically for the Post before becoming a syndicated columnist in 1981. Adams was a founding member of the TV show, A Current Affair, and often appears on TV and radio. Adams has written several books.
