Drug lord of Myanmar (formerly Burma), a country that once produced three-quarters of the worldâs heroine. The United States called him the worldâs largest heroine producer. He was a charming and ruthless guerrilla leader who controlled 75% of Myanmarâs trade. Sa had many private armies funded by his heroine production. His empire traded drugs for guns and used the weapons to cement his control over large areas of Myanmar. Since he surrendered to Burmese officials in 1996, Myanmar only supplies 5% of the worldâs heroine.
