Sir Michael Edwardes

After studying at Rhodes University, he began his career with the Chloride Group in Africa in 1951, becoming a general manager of its Alkaline Batteries subsidiary in Britain in 1966. His later career was spent as a turnaround artist whose beneficiaries included British Leyland in 1977.
