Suzanne Pleshette Biography
Suzanne Pleshette was an actress best known for her role as Emily Hartley on âThe Bob Newhart Showâ in the 1970s. The series ran on CBSâs Saturday night line-up for six seasons, from 1972 to 1978. Pleshette also had a film careerâher debut film in 1958 was a Jerry Lewis comedy called âThe Geisha Boy.â In 1962, she starred in âRome Adventure,â which made her known to the teenage audience, and she also appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock film, âThe Birds,â in 1963. Pleshette received four Emmy Award nominations, first for a guest performance on âDr. Kildareâ in 1962, twice for âThe Bob Newhart Show,â and again in 1991 for her role in âLeona Helmsley: the Queen of Mean.â He last role was on NBCâs âWill & Graceâ between 2002 and 2004.
