Walter P. Paepcke

An industrialist who is largely credited with having turned Aspen, Colorado into a cultural mecca and winter playground for the wealthy, Paepcke started out working in his father's lumber business. He later established his own firm, the Container Corporation of America in 1926. He used his considerable wealth to benefit others, becoming director and trustee of several educational foundations.
