Andersson, Bibi, 1935–2019, Swedish actress best known for her work with director Ingmar Bergman, b. Berit Elizabeth Andersson. Her films with Bergman included The Seventh Seal (1957); Wild Strawberries (1957); Persona (1966), in which she costarred with Liv Ullmann and came into her own as a mature actress; The Passion of Anna (1969); and Scenes from a Marriage (1974). She starred in Bergman's stage productions of Ibsen's Peer Gynt (1993) and Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale (1995). She also had a busy career in other directors' film, theater, and television productions. Fluent in English, she appeared in a number of American films, e.g., Duel at Diablo (1966), The Kremlin Letter (1970), and I Never Promised You a Rose Garden (1977).
