Greville, Charles Cavendish Fulke [key], 1794–1865, English diarist. As clerk of the Council in Ordinary (1821–59), he was closely associated with Wellington, Palmerston, and other political leaders of the reigns of George IV, William IV, and Victoria. His memoirs (1874–87; ed. by Lytton Strachey and Roger Fulford, 1938) are an invaluable record of the period.
