Bridgwater

Bridgwater, town, Somerset, SW England, on the Parrett River estuary. It is a port for seaborne traffic and a market town. Bridgwater is the only place in England that produces bathbricks, which are made from clay and sand deposited by the river and are used for scouring metals. Other manufactures are bricks, tiles, furniture, beer, and preserves. Admiral Robert Blake was born in Bridgwater.
