Trowbridge

Trowbridge trōˈbrĭj, trouˈ– [key], town (1991 pop. 27,299), Wiltshire, S England. It is a market town and a long-established center for the manufacture of woolen goods. Brewing, food processing, and light engineering are also important industries. The 13th-century parish church contains the tomb of the poet George Crabbe, rector of Trowbridge from 1814 to 1832. A College of Further Education is in Trowbridge.
