Leading Industries

Though the U.S. economy as a whole continues to expand, there are some parts of the economy that are growing and others that are shrinking. As you think about what area, called a sector, of the economy you would like to work in, consider which industries have experienced the most recent growth. The chart below indicates the industries that experienced the greatest percentage of jobs added between 2000 and 2010, based on U.S. Department of Labor statistics.
