Jerry Masucci

During a business trip to Havana, Masucci became fascinated with Latin music. In 1964 he cofounded Fania Records to cultivate the salsa sound, combining New York, African, and Latin Caribbean influences. He produced the work of musicians such as Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Ruben Blades, and Willie Coln.
