TRANSUE, Andrew Jackson, a Representative from Michigan; born in Clarksville, Ionia County, Mich., January 12, 1903; attended the local schools and was graduated from the Detroit (Mich.) College of Law, LL.B., 1926 and J.D., 1968; was admitted to the bar in 1926 and commenced the practice of law in Detroit, Mich., in 1926 and Flint, Mich., in 1927; prosecuting attorney of Genesee County 1933-1937; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth Congress (January 3, 1937-January 3, 1939); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1938 to the Seventy-sixth Congress; resumed the practice of law; was a resident of Flint, Mich., until his death on June 24, 1995.
