Frank Joseph McNULTY, Congress, NJ (1872-1926)

McNULTY, Frank Joseph, a Representative from New Jersey; born in Londonderry, Ireland, August 10, 1872; immigrated to the United States in 1876 with his parents, who settled in New York City; attended the public schools of New York City; vice president of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1901; elected president of the same organization in 1903, and served until 1918, when he resigned; president emeritus and chairman of the international board of directors of that organization; member of the commission to study municipal and public ownership of public utilities in England, Ireland, and Scotland by the National Civic Federation; during the First World War served as vice chairman of the Railway Board of Adjustment No. 2; deputy director of public safety of Newark 1917-1921; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1923-March 3, 1925); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1924 to the Sixty-ninth Congress; resumed his former business activities; died in Newark, N.J., May 26, 1926; interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, N.J.
