GUTKNECHT, Gilbert W., a Representative from Minnesota; born in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa, March 20, 1951; graduated from Cedar Falls High School, Cedar Falls, Iowa; B.A., University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, 1973; Worldwide College of Auctioneering (Iowa), 1978; member of the Minnesota state house of representatives, 1982-1994; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourth and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-January 3, 2007); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Tenth Congress in 2006.
