DAVENPORT, Harry James, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Wilmerding, Allegheny County, Pa., August 22, 1902; attended St. Peterâs Parochial School and McKeesport High School; newspaper publisher; unsuccessful candidate for nomination in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-first Congress (January 3, 1949-January 3, 1951); was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1950 to the Eighty-second Congress and was also unsuccessful for nomination in 1960 to the Eighty-seventh Congress; lecturer and book salesman; resided in Millvale, Pa., where he died December 19, 1977; interment in New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles, Pa.
