KLEIN, Herbert C., a Representative from New Jersey; born in Newark, Essex County, N.J., June 24, 1930; graduated, Hillside High School, Hillside, N.J., 1947; B.A., Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., 1951; J.D., Harvard University School of Law, Cambridge, Mass., 1953; LL.M., New York University, New York, N.Y., 1957; served in the United States Air Force, 1954-1956; admitted to the bar in 1953 and commenced the practice of law in Clifton, N.J.; municipal chairman, Clifton, N.J., 1980-1985; member, New Jersey State assembly, 1971-1976; executive director, Passaic County Democratic Committee, 1977-1981; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Third Congress (January 3, 1993-January 3, 1995); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fourth Congress.
