HIESTER, Daniel, (son of John Hiester and nephew of Daniel Hiester [1747-1804]), a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Chester County, Pa., in 1774; prothonotary and clerk of the courts of Chester County 1800-1809; elected as a Republican to the Eleventh Congress (March 4, 1809-March 3, 1811); was instrumental in establishing the Bank of Chester County and was its first cashier 1814-1817; burgess of West Chester 1815-1817; appointed register of wills and recorder of deeds February 28, 1821; died in Hagerstown, Md., March 8, 1834; interment in Congressional Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
