TELLER, Isaac, (nephew of Abraham Henry Schenck), a Representative from New York; born in Matteawan, Dutchess County, N.Y., February 7, 1799; completed preparatory studies; held several local offices; elected as a Whig to the Thirty-third Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Gilbert Dean and served from November 7, 1854, to March 3, 1855; engaged in agricultural pursuits; died in Matteawan (now Beacon), N.Y., April 30, 1868; interment in the Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, Dutchess County, N.Y.
