JACOBS, Israel, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born near Perkiomen Creek, Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pa., June 9, 1726; attended the public schools; engaged in agricultural and mercantile pursuits; member of the colonial assembly 1770-1774; elected as a Pro-Administration candidate to the Second Congress (March 4, 1791-March 3, 1793); resumed agricultural pursuits; died in Providence Township about December 10, 1796; interment probably in graveyard of the Friends Meeting House.
