HARDING, John Eugene, a Representative from Ohio; born in Excello, Butler County, Ohio, June 27, 1877; attended the Amanda public schools and Pennsylvania Military Academy at Chester; was graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1900; engaged in business in Middletown, Ohio, and in industrial enterprises; member of the State senate in 1902; elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth Congress (March 4, 1907-March 3, 1909); delegate to the Republican State convention in 1910; engaged in the paper business in Chicago, Ill., until he moved to New York City, where he was associated with the Pure Oil Co., 1921-1926; engaged in industrial enterprises until retirement in 1949; died in New Haven, Conn., July 26, 1959; interment in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio.
