FOSDICK, Nicoll, a Representative from New York; born in New London, Conn., November 9, 1785; completed preparatory studies; moved to Norway, N.Y.; presidential elector on the Monroe ticket in 1816; member of the State assembly in 1818 and 1819; elected as an Adams candidate to the Nineteenth Congress (March 4, 1825-March 3, 1827); returned to New London, Conn., in 1843; collector of customs 1849-1853; engaged in mercantile pursuits; died in New London, Conn., May 7, 1868; interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
