SWETT, Richard, (son-in-law of Thomas Peter Lantos), a Representative from New Hampshire; born in Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pa., May 1, 1957; attended public schools in Meredith and Laconia, N.H.; B.A., Yale University, New Haven, Conn., 1979; architect; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Second and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 1991-January 3, 1995); was not a candidate for reelection to the House of Representatives but was an unsuccessful candidate in 1996 for election to the United States Senate; United States Ambassador to Denmark, 1998-2001; is a resident of Bow, N.H.
