LEE, Robert Emmett, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Pottsville, Schuykill County, Pa., October 12, 1868; attended the common schools; apprenticed to the blacksmithâs trade; engaged in mercantile pursuits in Pottsville; county treasurer in 1905; unsuccessful candidate for election in 1908 to the Sixty-first Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-second and Sixty-third Congresses (March 4, 1911-March 3, 1915); chairman, Committee on Mileage (Sixty-second Congress); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1914 to the Sixty-fourth Congress; resumed his former business activities in Pottsville; unsuccessful candidate for election in 1916 to the Sixty-fifth Congress; died in Pottsville, Pa., November 19, 1916; interment in St. Patrickâs Cemetery.
