VIVIAN, Weston Edward, a Representative from Michigan; born in Newfoundland, Canada, October 25, 1924; moved to the United States with parents September 5, 1929, and settled in Cranston, R.I.; attended the Cranston schools; served in the United States Navy as an enlisted man and officer, 1943-1946; B.S., Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., 1945; M.S., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass., 1949; Ph.D., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., 1959; candidate for city council, Ann Arbor, Mich., 1958-1959; research engineer and lecturer at the University of Michigan 1951-1959; chairman of Ann Arbor City Democratic Committee in 1959-1960; electronics engineer and consultant for various firms and institutions; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-ninth Congress (January 3, 1965-January 3, 1967); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1966 to the Ninetieth Congress; vice president, Vicom Industries, Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich.; lecturer, Institute of Public Policy Studies, University of Michigan; telecommunications consultant; is a resident of Ann Arbor, Mich.
