STRUDWICK, William Francis, a Representative from North Carolina; born at âStag Park,â near Wilmington, New Hanover County, N.C., ca. 1765; received a limited education; farmer; delegate to the North Carolina state convention, 1789; member of the North Carolina state senate, 1792-1793 and 1797; elected as a Federalist to the Fourth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Absalom Tatom (November 28, 1796-March 3, 1797); member of the North Carolina state house of representatives, 1801-1803; died in North Carolina in 1812; interment in a private cemetery on his estate at âHawfields,â Orange County, N.C.
