Magician whose tricks made him an international celebrity and a millionaire. Copperfield took to magic as a kid and became the youngest person ever admitted to the Society of American Magicians (at age 12). He later attended Fordham University and taught a magic course at New York University. His successful TV career began with the show The Magic of David Copperfield (1991–97). Cooperfield's large-scale illusions include levitating cars and vanishing the Statue of Liberty.
