David McCord

Although he produced prose and poetry for adults, McCord is best remembered for the poetry he wrote for children. Of the more than 40 books McCord wrote or edited, his most popular include Far and Few: Rhymes of the Never Was and Always Is (1952), All Day Long: Fifty Rhymes of the Never Was and Always Is (1966), and One at a Time (1978). He also edited an anthology of humorous verse, What Cheer (1945), reprinted as The Pocket Book of Humorous Verse (1946).
