Susannah McCorkle

sultry-voiced singer and accomplished writer known for her literary interpretation of jazz standards. Fluent in six languages, McCorkle was particularly fond of translating and performing Brazilian pop songs. She recorded 17 albums and had her fiction published in magazines and the O. Henry Book of Prize Short Stories. She committed suicide.
